1. 0 INTRODUCT ION The devices of the SAA7187/88 famil y of video encoders can be used in a va riety of applications differing regardi ng the signal flow of timing informatio n. Video timing is defined by clock sig nals, synchronization signals and blank ing signals. The video encoder ICs can generate these signals by itself (maste r mode), or can accept them as input (s lave mode). The master/slave characteri stic can be chosen independently for cl ock and sync-s . |
