The IC continuously monitors the input voltage, the input current, and the battery voltage. The output acts as a linear regulator. The output is regulated to VO(REG) for inputs between VO(REG) and the overvoltage threshold. If an input overvoltage condition occurs, the IC immediately removes power from the charging circuit by turning off an internal switch.
