fier designed to provide voltage and cur rent gain for a small signal, general p urpose op amp. Including the power boos ter within the feedback loop of the dri ver amplifier results in a composite am plifier with the accuracy of the driver and the extended output cur‐ rent ca pability of the booster. The output sta ge utilizes complementary MOSFETs, prov iding symmetrical output impedance and elimi‐ nating second breakdown limita tions imposed by Bipolar Junction Trans istors. Although the booster can be con figured quite simply, enormous flexibil ity is provided through the choice of d river amplifier, current limit and supp ly voltage. This hybrid circuit utilize s a Beryllia (BeO) substrate, thick fil m resistors, ceramic capacitors and sem icon‐ ductor chips to maximize reliab ility, minimize size and give top perfo rmance. Ultrasonically bonded alumi‐ num wires provide reliable interconnect ions at all operating temperatures. The PB64 is packaged in Apex Microtechnolo gy’s 12‐pin power SIP.
