The MC146805E2 Microprocessor Unit (MPU) belongs to the M6805
Family of Microcomputers. This 8-bit fully static and expandable
microprocessor contains a CPU, on-chip RAM, I/O, and TIMER. It is a
low-power, low-cost processor designed for low-end to mid-range ap-
plications in the consumer, automotive, industrial, and communications
markets where very low power consumption constitutes an important

This device contains circuitry to protect the
inputs against damage due to high static volt-
ages or electric fields; however, it is advised
that normal precautions be taken to avoid ap-
plication of any voltage higher than maxi-
mum rated voltages to this high impedance
circuit. For proper operation it is recommend-
ed that Vin and Vout be constrained to the
range VSSslVin or VoutlsVDO. Reliability
of operation is enhanced if unused inputs are
tied to an appropriate logic voltage level
le.g., either VSS or VOOI.
