8-BIT MICROCOMPUTER UNIT
The MC146805G2 Microcomputer Unit (MCU) belongs to the
M146805 CMOS Family of Microcomputers. This 8-bit MCU contains
on-chip oscillator, CPU, RAM, ROM, I/O, and TIMER. The fully static
design allows operation at frequencies down to dc, further reducing its
already low-power consumption. It is a low-power processor designed
for low-end to mid-range applications in the consumer, automotive, in-
dustrial, and communications markets where very low power consump-
tion constitutes an important factor. The following are the major
features of the MC146805G2 MCU.

This device contains circuitry to protect the
inputs against damage due to high static
voltages of electric fields; however. it is ad-
vised that normal precautions be taken to
avoid application of any voltage higher than
maximum rated voltages to this high im-
pedance circuit. For proper operation it is
recl)mmended that Vin and Vout be con-
strained to the range VSS s (Vin or
Vout) s VDO. Reliability of operation is
enhanced if unused inputs except OSC2 and
NUM are tied to an appropriate logic voltage
level (e.g .. either VSS or VDDI.
