PT8401
The PT8401 is a single chip MPEG audio decoder capable of decoding all layers compressed elementary streams, as specified in MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 ISO standards. With external A/D converter, it can also compress incoming signal by using ADPCM algorithm, therefore it can also playback ADPCM bitstream.

Functional Description
System and Interface Description
PT8401 is capable of decoding MPEG audio bitstream through a serial data interface. With proper external A/D converter, it is capable of encoding audio signal by the ADPCM Method. The primary operating mode of PT8401 is divided into three sections: MP3 Decoder, ADPCM Encoder and ADPCM Decoder. MP3 Decoding Mode: The bitstream input may either be from the first serial bitstream interface or .
