DESCRIPTION The SCD5580A (Red), SCD5581A (Yellow), SCD5582A (HER), SCD5583A (Green) and SCD5584A (HEG) are eight digit dot addressable 5 x 5 matrix, Serial Input, Intelligent Display devices. The eight 0.145" (3.68 mm) high digits are packaged in a transparent, 0.3" pin spacing plastic DIP. The on-board CMOS has a 200 bit RAM, (one bit associated with one LED), to generate User Defined Characters. Due to the reduced LED count, power requirement and heat dissipation are reduced by 30%. The Clock I/O (CLK I/O) and Clock Select (CLKSEL) pins offer the user the capability to supply a high speed external clock.
