Description
The FAN7711, developed using Fairchild’s unique highvoltage process, is a ballast control integrated circuit (IC) for a fluorescent lamp. FAN7711 incorporates a preheating / ignition function, controlled by an userselected external capacitor, to increase lamp life. The FAN7711 detects switch operation from after ignition mode through an internal active Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS) control circuit. This control scheme enables the FAN7711 to detect an open-lamp condition, without the expense of external circuitry, and prevents stress on MOSFETs. The high-side driver built into the FAN7711 has a common-mode noise cancellation circuit that provides robust operation against high-dv/dt noise intrusion.
