Due to reducing the number of external comp onent, t he board space c an b e sa ved ea sily. The external shutdown function can b e co ntrolled b y lo gic l evel and t hen come into st andby m ode. The in ternal compensation makes fe edback control ha ve go od line an d lo ad reg ulation wit hout ex ternal de sign. Regarding pr otected fun ction, th ermal s hutdown is to prevent over temperature operating from damage, and current limit is to prevent over current operating of the output swi tch. I f cur rent li mit f unction occurred an d V FB is d own to 0.5V below, the switching frequency will be reduced. The AP1506 series operate at a switching frequency of 150KHz thus all owing smal ler size d f ilter co mponents t han what would b e needed w ith lower fr equency switching r egulators.
