NCT80 Hardware Monitor with I2C Serial Interface The NCT80 is a two−wire serially programmable hardware monitor. It can monitor its on chip temperature via its local sensor, 7 analog inputs and measure the speed of two fans. Each of the measured values are compared with programmable limits and if any channel is outside the programmed limit an interrupt is generated via the INT output pin. It also has a chassis intrusion detection input pin which is latched on an intrusion event. Communication with the NCT80 is accomplished via the I2C interface which is compatible with industry standard protocols. Through this interface the NCT80s internal registers may be accessed. These registers allow the user to read the current temperature, fan speed and voltages, change the configuration settings and adjust each channels limits. The NCT80 is available in a 24−lead TSSOP package and operates over a wide supply range of 2.8 to 5.75 V. This makes the NCT80 ideal for a wide variety of applications ranging from computers to servers and test equipment.
